I also shared a bit about what my week looks like this week, which I’ll update you guys on next week, but today I’m going to dive into what shoe styles and trends celebrities are wearing right now. We all want to stay up-to-date on trends, right? Although, after some research on what the celebs are wearing these days, I’m not sure if I’m on board. We’ll see…
I found an article that highlights the popular shoe trends that celebrities are loving and I was surprised by some and others I totally expected. I’ll link it here for you to check out.
I knew that animal prints would be on the list somewhere, but when the first trend that they highlighted was “slouchy boots,” I was definitely thrown off. Here’s my commentary on some of the latest shoe trends brought to us by celebrities:
Slouchy Boots? I thought that was the style for moms in the 2000’s, but maybe it’s making its way back. I’m not a huge fan, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see me wearing them in a few months if the trend takes off. They mentioned that the F/W 19 collection made them popular and I think it’s crazy how one brand can have so much effect on trends.
The next trend mentioned: Poppin Pumps. Heck. Yes. I’m all for this trend. I love pops of color and I love heels, so I’m all for it. I personally do not own any “Poppin Pumps” but I would absolutely buy a pair. I always love shoes that have a pop of color, but I stray away from them for the simple fact that they’re not as versatile as black, navy, or nude. But, if I was rich, or maybe just not a college student, there would be no holding back.
Furry Feet…. Ummm, not so much a fan of this one. What do you guys think? In my opinion, it looks like you have roadkill on your feet. Ew. Just saying.
Bright Whites? Yeah, big fan. It’s a clean crisp look and I like it. I’ve definitely noticed this trend around campus. White converse, white Vans, and white “chunky” tennis shoes are definitely a trend. Personally, I’ve not taken the leap of buying an all white pair of shoes because white shoes are riskyyyy, but I love the look.
Statement Sneaks. I’m on the fence about these. I love the ones that are making a statement with their colors, but I don’t really like the big bulky ones. Some just look too much like what my grandma would wear.
Crystal-adorned: Who doesn’t love sparkles? I think these are classy and fabulous, except maybe not when you buy the $15 pair with fake sparkles, but that’s totally what I buy because #collegestudent. I love sparkles and I love bling.
Lastly, the one that makes my heart so happy: animal prints. When I was a kid, I LOVED cheetah print everything, so when I started seeing cheetah print clothes and shoes on the store shelves, I was ecstatic. (You can ask my sister, I was!) I’m all for this trend.
