Hi readers! Welcome to our blog! I’m Anna Clark. I am one of four co-authors of the Sole Mate Shoes Blog. I know I am going to enjoy what I learn from writing this blog, and reading the posts from the other authors, and I hope you do too!
I am very excited to be researching and writing about a fashion related topic. I am a junior at Ball State University, and one of my majors is fashion merchandising, while the other is accounting. This fashion merchandising degree allows me to understand the business of the current fashion industry, while giving me the opportunities to study specific designers and trends from hundreds of years ago, to now. My love for everything pertaining to fashion is the reason why I am so excited to start expanding my knowledge on shoes – one of the main industries in the overall fashion industry that continuously thrives throughout the year.
Aside from fashion, I also enjoy other creative and artistic activities like painting, crafting, baking, and sewing. I also love going to the movies, decorating and celebrating holidays and seasons, and going camping with my family. I am an older sister to two brothers, ages 15 and 7. Fun fact about my brothers; their names also start with A’s! My goal is to always be a good role model for them to look up to.
About shoes: I love them because they are the final step to completing any outfit. Sometimes they are the first thing I plan about a special outfit. I have worn so many different types of shoes for so many different occasions. High heels for proms, volleyball sneakers for years of playing competitively, and professional flats for my first real, job interview.
When I think about the overall topic of shoes, I have many ideas about what I want to learn more about, or what I think will be interesting to share with others. Some of the topics that interest me and that I hope to write about are the shoe trends in the coming seasons in America and around the world, the best places to buy quality shoes in-store and online, the influence of iconic shoes we have seen throughout fashion, the history of shoes and their designers, and how the shoe industry has impacted our environment. I am hoping to make videos and podcasts on fun and interesting topics, such as DIY ideas on decorating your shoes, fun ways to tie your shoelaces, and the best ways to take care of your shoes.
Also, there are so many types and styles of shoes, that it truly is possible to find your sole-mate! I hope that this blog will help you feel inspired and excited about your shoe choices and all the fun shoes can bring into your life. I’m excited for the future of this blog, and I hope you are too! I can’t wait to continue to share more ideas, research, and fun findings with you all!
