Hi readers! I hope you are doing well. This week I was inspired by the recent shift in advertising that is usually noticeable on November 1st. That’s right, all-things Christmas and winter-themed have started being advertised. I really enjoy this time of the year, but it is funny how it seems that every year, companies are advertising winter shopping earlier and earlier every year.
Do you enjoy the early advertisements of Christmas and winter-themed items months before the winter season? I do enjoy them because they are normally fun and cheery advertisements. Because of this shift in seasons within advertising, I decided I would write about shoes that are essential, and some that are not-so essential, for the winter season. Maybe this list will inspire you to expand your winter shoe collection or find an early Christmas gift for a fellow shoe-lover!
The first pair of shoes that I found that I thought were super cute were the Jeffrey Campbell Cloudy Waterproof Chelsea Rain Boot. These rain boots are made from faux leather and they have a high platform sole so that you can avoid getting you feet wet in rain puddles and snow. I love these shoes because they are very plain and sleek and will match any outfit you pair them with. These shoes are for sale on Nordstrom.com and they are relatively inexpensive for the quality that they are, currently $59.95.

The next pair of shoes that I thought were essential for the cold winter weather are the Sperry’s Saltwater Metallic Duck Boots. These shoes are sold with the promise that they are ready to take on an adventure and elevate your wardrobe. The Sperry’s website also adds that these shoes “add some glam while you are living your best life.” I love that! These shoes are fully lined with fleece inside and have a water resistant upper and lower sole to keep you warm and protected from the cold. They are offered in many different color selections. These shoes are a little more on the expensive side, ranging from $115 – $120. But, I know that Sperry’s are created with a quality to last, so they definitely will get you through many seasons of harsh weather.

The next pair of shoes I found that I am interested in are AllBirds Merino Wool Runners. I am interested in these shoes because they are marketed as being “cozy as a blanket.” The AllBirds website states that these tennis shoes are made from a wool textile from their very own “superfine merino wool.” Although I have never tried these shoes on before I think they do look super cozy. The AllBirds website claims that these shoes are “soft, and itch-free on the inside, durable on the outside, and comfortable all over.” These would be great shoes if you prefer a year-round sporty look or are more concerned with comfort and wear-ability. Something else that I thought was interesting about these shoes is that their laces are made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. The website claims that they use one old plastic bottle that they turn into a “pair of durable, sleek shoelaces, designed with inspiration from nautical rope.” These shoes are also supposed to be cool in the heat, aside from just being warm in the cold, meaning that they can be utilized all year long. These shoes are around $95 a pair, and have many colors, some which are limited edition. They have great reviews, and even though I haven’t bought them myself, I would still encourage you to check them out!

Another pair of shoes I found that I have always wanted for myself for the rainy and snowy months are Hunter boots. I learned that these shoes are created with precision and craft that sets them apart. The Hunter website claims that these shoes are “perfect for wet weather conditions, this women’s Rain Boot has been at the heart of the Hunter Original brand since its introduction in 1956. Formed of natural rubber, each pair is made from 28 hand-cut parts and assembled over three days on an aluminum last bespoke to Hunter, before being vulcanized for superior protection. Featuring the Hunter Original tread pattern, and a comfortable polyester lining, the Original Tall in bold red is a timeless wet weather staple.” The backstory that I was able to learn about these shoes is one of the reasons why I love researching brands. It allowed me to learn more about their process, that they are handmade and created with vegan materials. They are sold for $150, which makes their quality evident.

I hope this list of fun and exciting winter shoe fashions inspires you to check out some options to add to your cart for yourself or someone else as a gift for the holidays!
Until next time,
Anna
