Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog posts! This week I thought I would write about something fun that always gets my attention every year. I’m talking about red carpet fashion. Last night, the 2019 Emmys was live. The reason why these televised award shows always get my attention is because of the luxurious and usually over the top fashion that the celebrities wear to these red-carpet events. I think these award shows are interesting because they provide fashion designers and celebrities the outlet to create iconic fashion looks that can be trend setting for seasons to come. With that being said, here are some of my favorite shoe and dress looks from last night, as well as who is wearing them and their designers, and a little bit of background information about those designers. The first look of the night that I really enjoyed seeing was Zendaya’s. She wore a fantastic emerald green dress and heels. I think she just looks wonderful with her recently dyed red hair and this red-carpet look. This hair color choice really compliments the emerald green shoes and dress. The designer of her heels is Brian Atwood. Brian Atwood launched his shoe brand in 2001, and since then his collections have been desired all over the globe due to their craftsmanship, designs, and details. He runs his business so that he oversees every design, all construction and material details, and overall productions. I think his attention to detail is the reason why the fashion industry and celebrities love his creations year after year.
The next dress and shoe look that I loved from the Emmys this year was Emilia Clarke’s. Her dress is Valentino Haute Couture and her shoes are Jimmy Choo. The Jimmy Choo company was created in 1996, and ever since the brand’s luxury shoes and accessories have had successful influence on the fashion industry. This brand’s shoes are desired around the world because of their fashionable designs and Italian craftsmanship. Jimmy Choo shoes became famous worldwide because they were first designed specifically for celebrities and royals. This caused the brand to achieve global recognition and success. I believe Jimmy Choo designs are successful in the fashion industry because they hold a celebrity and royal-like status of elegance and influence.
The last look that I really enjoyed from this year’s Emmys was Maisie William’s. She wore a custom JW Anderson dress and Roger Vivier heels. Roger Vivier created his brand in the 1930s. I learned that it was his “life’s work to bring fantasy, fun, and creativity into the world of footwear.” https://www.rogervivier.com/us-en/history-single-sw-1/ I think that fun and creativity is evident from the design of Maisie’s heels. With the big embellishments and fun silhouette, it is evident that this brand’s designs bring creativity and excitement to the fashion industry today.
